spurugs - Zanskari style of brushing the textile after weaving
This pillow case is made from the traditional "spurugs" - a textile peculiar to the region Zanskar in Ladakh. After the weaving, the fabric is boiled and brushed, creating a fleece like texture. It is made from Zanskari wool and has a very fluffy feel to it. The pillow cases are stitched by our team. The opening is at the back, using handspun string. The color combination of the small pillow is brown and white. The color combination of the bigger pillow is brown and light grey.
