This pillow case is made from the indigenous black cotton, also called kala cotton, of Gujarat, a state in Western India. This type of cotton is entirely rain-fed and naturally resilient to pests compared to conventional cotton. It is hand-spun by a community of spinners in Gujarat and hand-woven and dyed by our team in Assam and stitched in our studio in Ladakh. The yarn is dyed with pomegranate peels and it has a rustic texture as the yarn is a thicker one. The pillow case closes with an envelope closure at the back.
